Prayer Requests & Updates

Issue #40

May 10, 2007--Daniella Moerschel

I am writing to you to request help from you and your church. I would be eternally grateful for any assistance that you can give. I am 25 years old from your area in a halfway house here in Mississippi for women ages 18-30. I have been here 3 months and I will be released in 3 months so that I can return home there. We all work for free here and I help to cook and clean house. This is a huge 5 bedroom house out in the country shared by 6 women in each bedroom. The lady that runs this house is very good to all of us here but the rules are strict here. We are not allowed to go anywhere by ourselves. I truly need your help due to both my parents were killed 7 years ago in a plane crash. I have absolutely no one else to ask for help. I need your help with either a postal money order of any amount that you can send or a care package of canned food items (also coffee and tea) personal hygiene supplies (also razors, shave gel, maxi pads & tampons), first aid supplies and writing tablets, ink pens, envelopes and a full book of postage stamps. Will you help me, please? Any help in any way will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless you, Daniella Moerschel, PO Box 166, Derma, MS 38839

May 14, 2007--Wildfires in Florida

The following request is about the wildfire currently near the Florida/Georgia border. I heard officials say that what happens today (Monday, May 14, 2007) will determine the future with this fire. It's bad enough but if winds pick up it could get much worse. We need rain to put this thing out! We live about 45 miles from part of it and at times the smoke is bad. One is able to get a more accurate update from the various local and national new services. Please pray for rain and safety for all those who are involved and affected. Paul Gibson

May 19, 2007--Wildfires in Florida & Georgia

I want to thank everybody who has prayed concerning the wildfire in our area and in other areas. This particular fire is one of over 200 in the state of Florida. I don't know much about the fires in Georgia or Alabama. Many people are living in drought conditions in the Southeast. Continued prayers for all the fire crews and support groups are and will be greatly appreciated. Georgia http://www.gfc.state.ga.us/ Florida http://www.fl-dof.com/wildfire2007/daily_report.html (the one near us) Florida Bugaboo Fire - The fire continues to be active. The leading edge of the fire has advanced little in the last two days and remains approximately nine miles north of I-10 and 1.5 miles east of Hwy 441. Smoke will be a factor throughout the fire area and in surrounding communities. Rain received on Thursday night and early Friday morning did help firefighters. However, no additional significant precipitation is forecast. A Red Flag alert will be in effect today due to expected low relative humidity. Winds will be breezy from the east and northeast and combined with extreme drought conditions, moderate fire behavior can be expected. Crews will continue to improve fire lines, as well as a significant amount of mop up in the interior of the fire. Cause: lightning.

May 31, 2007--Kaylah’s Friend

I would like to pray for a close friend of mine who is currently writing an essay for a college scholarship. He could use the scholarship in his future endeavors and so the essay is an important step in that achievement. With God's help, I believe he can reach his dreams and bring smiles to many along the way. Thank you. Kaylah

May 31, 2007--Sergio

Please pray for Sergio. He has been in a battle against cancer for over a year. He and his wife and son moved from Fort Lauderdale to Jackson Tennessee because home insurance rates have quadrupled in just 2 years because of the hurricane activity here in South Florida. He has a good hospice team in Tennessee. He has a tumor in his lung, cancer in his head, and pain in his leg because of chemotherapy he had a year ago. He stopped the chemo abruptly, seeing the harm it was doing. Wily Elder

May 31, 2007--Laura Lee

I guess I and steps just don't get along too well. Just before noon today, I was bringing our three dogs in from outside and I slipped on our patio steps. It's been raining here pretty steady for the last two days and the steps were wet and slippery. Anyway I think I am okay, but I'm in a lot of pain. My upper back and neck hurt and I may have bruised my tail bone. I already have a bad lower back and this really doesn't help. Please pray for my complete healing. Thank you. Laura Lee

June 2, 2007--Lorraine

Please pray for Lorraine, who is a young girl of 16 years of age and has been found with cancer. She is going through moments of difficult breathing, and much pain. Also pray for her Parents and Family who are in much anguish as can be expected, so they can receive fortitude and peace of mind at this moment. May Yahweh Bless and answer all earnest prayers sent to Heaven's Throne. G.A.

June 5, 2007--Patty Sawyer

Dear Brethren, I am writing today to ask for prayers for a very dear friend of mine who is having some serious health issues. Her name is Patty Sawyer and she has been diagnosed with polyps on her kidneys and liver as well as possible very serious gallbladder problems. Please ask that our loving Heavenly Father would pour out his tender mercies on this very dear woman and heal her. Please pass this e-mail along to others so that we can get as many people praying as possible. Thank you in advance for your prayers. Bryn

June 5, 2007--Virginia Sellers

Please pray for a Sister In Messiah Virginia Sellers, who just lost her Son. That the Eternal may give her the strength and fortitude that can only come from Heaven in this time of sorrow. G.A.

June 7, 2007--P.

Please pray for me to be delivered from the horrible criticism, ridicule and gossip that has taken over my mind. Thank you. P.

June 8, 2007--P. F. Lazor

Another person to pray for is PF Lazor, in prison for about 25 yrs. for a murder he didn't commit. He's illegally been denied a parole hearing, they (the prison system) keeps making up false reports against him, including one by the chaplain who branded him as "uncooperative" because PF keeps the Sabbath. PF's starting to see some sort of break, like consulting someone who can help him get a parole hearing, but a lot of money needs to be raised in 30 days for this to happen (before the petition can be filed for parole), if I understood his letter correctly. However, money for him has to be sent to a trusted friend: {Gayle Travis, 21736 Orange Ave., Castro Valley, CA, 94546, phone: 510-925-7346} because the prison will confiscate any money sent directly to him in prison! Not only that, but it results in severe penalties for PF! It's a deplorable situation. He needs all the help of any kind he can get. Our prayers need to go up to Yehovah's halls of justice, there is very little justice left in the halls of injustice down here. Thank you all for your prayers, Sandy Kile

June 14, 2007--Kaylah

I am a single mother of two children. I just finished two years of college and helped another student finish her degree. Those 4 years of my life seem wasted now as I look for a job in this area. So I need a prayer to help me find a job that can support my children and myself. Thank you for your time. Kaylah

June 14, 2007--Sergio

I want to thank everyone for their prayers. Sergio died yesterday (13 June). With him was his wife and son. He had a long battle with cancer and pain left from chemo. Please pray for his son, Sergio, and wife, Mireya, during this time of loss. Wily Elder

June 15, 2007--Patty Sawyer

Hi everyone here’s an updated on my friend Patty Sawyer, She is going to have surgery to have her gall bladder removed. Right now what we need to pray about is that this can be done laparoscopically vs. the old fashioned large incision. The laparoscopic surgery is easier on the body and provides for quicker recovery and a shorter stay in the hospital. The surgery is scheduled for Monday June 17th or possibly Sunday June 16th. As I understand what Patty has told me they will also be doing a biopsy of the polyp on her liver at the same time to determine if it is cancer or not. Your prayers thus far have been heard and our loving Heavenly Father and our Elder Brother have sustained her through some rough days. So please keep up the GREAT job of remembering her in your prayers. In summary here’s what she specifically needs prayers for. 1.That the surgery can be done laparoscopically and that it goes without any complications. 2.That the polyps are not cancerous. 3. That she have a speedy recovery in part so that she does not have to miss much work. 4. That Our Father continues to comfort her through this difficult time and give her strength. Patty also wanted to say thank you for all your prayers. Even though she is still very sick I can hear in her voice that she is stronger than she was a week ago [which is amazing since she hasn’t had hardly anything to eat or drink this last week.] We both know this added strength is due to your prayers. So thank you and please offer up these continued prayers with joyful thanksgivings and praises for the answered ones to date. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and please forward this information to people you had shared the previous request with. Bryn

June 16, 2007--Patty Sawyer

Update on Patty Sawyer: Correction on gall bladder surgery and biopsy on polyp date: Monday June 18th or possibly Sunday June 17th.

June 16, 2007--Loretta Overman

Request prayer for Loretta Overman of Wentsville, MO who lost her 33-year-old son, David in May, and her daughter Sharon died last December.

June 20, 2007--Patty Sawyer

Hello everyone, I wanted to give you an update of my friend Patty Sawyer to let you all know that your prayers are indeed being answered. Patty had surgery on Monday and they were able to do the surgery laparoscopically which is a true blessing and a definite answer to prayer. Patty had her surgery Monday afternoon and she was home by Tuesday afternoon. She is still weak and in some pain but seems to be recovering nicely. They also did the biopsies on the polyps and it will be a few days before we know the results. As good as everything is going I would like to ask that you would please continue to pray for her and remember the following in your prayers. 1. Please offer up prayers of thanksgiving for what our Father has already done. Miracles have indeed happened and we need to remember to have an attitude of gratitude for these answered prayers. 2. Pray that her recovery from the surgery continues to go well and that she is ultimately completely healed. 3. Pray that the biopsies come back cancer free. 4. Pray that she be strengthened emotionally. Obviously going though any health crisis is tough on the body, but she is also very stressed with worry about the unknown both physically and financially. She has good insurance, but there is time off from work and financial considerations outside of health care cost to worry about. So please remember these considerations in your prayers as well. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and may our loving Heavenly Father bless all of you for your prayers of love and healing for this dear friend of mine. And please pass this e-mail along to anyone you have shared this prayer request with. Thanks again, Bryn

June 26, 2007--Colleen Kile

Update on Colleen Kile, Good news everyone... Colleen [who was bitten by a deer tick] says she is starting to feel more like a real person again, and may even have the energy to watch TV tonight. Thank you everyone for your prayers, and love, and concern. People from as far away as AZ have written and prayed for her. It is wonderful to have a church family like this. Thank you so much, and thank you and praises to Yehovah and his Son, our Elder Brother Yayshua who have made this possible. With great appreciation, Sandy

June 30, 2007--Arlan Weight

We received word this afternoon that Arlan Weight is in the hospital, MedCenter One here in Bismarck, North Dakota, for something to do with his heart. This is all we know. Pray for Arlan's complete recovery. Cards for Arlan can be sent here. Please be sure to put his name on the outside of the envelope so we don't accidentally open it. Darwin & Laura Lee

June 30, 2007--Patty Sawyer

Dear Brethren, Here’s an update on Patty Sawyer’s progress. Patty’s recovery from surgery has hit a slight snag. From the surgery she has developed two hernias in her abdomen. These will have to be corrected by surgery, but her doctor says it would be unwise to try to do it anytime soon since he feels that she still needs to recover more from the gallbladder removal. So yes she is looking at going under the knife yet again. That is unless she is healed of these before then. So please pray that she is. Also she did get the tests back from the biopsies and when I asked her what the news was she said she preferred to not say which obviously means the news is not good, I assume cancer, but as she said she can only deal with one crisis at a time. Brethren I am asking that you continue to pray for Patty so that our loving Heavenly Father and His Son our Healer – Yayshua Messiah, will continue to bring her through this trial. I know it is easy to loose hope when it seems like the news is bad, but do not be discouraged by this news, have faith, continue to believe, continue to pray. Patty knows your prayers are helping her deal with all this. She is strengthened by your prayers. She needs you and your prayers now more than ever. Your prayers are making a difference!!! YOU are making a difference so don’t loose heart and don’t stop now. I thank you and Patty thanks you for your continued prayers, Bryn
