For the majority of my life I didn't realize that there were people who would want a pig for anything OTHER than consumption. I have now become aware of a small group of individuals who actually keep a (usually pot-bellied) pig as a pet... much like a dog or cat.

Aside from this minute group though; virtually all pigs are raised for consumption, whether the one raising them consumes them or not. Understanding this; the question becomes 'Is it right to assist others to transgress Torah (the Law of God).' I can only hope that that question isn't too hard to answer! (But if it IS too hard to answer; allow me to say, "NO; it isn't right to raise pigs.")
