Seventy years ago is a long
time to many of the people reading this. Haunting similarities of a more civilized period of time are far more striking than we realize
in regards to the times in which we are living today.
Numerous warnings were given seven decades ago by reporters who risked
careers and family or friends who could see the handwriting on the wall. The vast majority of the people scoffed at such warnings.
Desperate pleas were ridiculed and discarded. Many of the people were wealthy and held the finest jobs in the country as bankers,
business owners and teachers. Children obtained a solid education. They lived in fine homes and families were closely knit.
Storm
clouds were slowly forming, but many of the people could only see blue skies enhanced by the sun. For those who could see the raging
storm clouds on the horizon, calm assurances were given by family and friends that everything would be fine. “How can you take seriously
a little buffoonish character with a comical moustache?” Many said, “Political change is in the air, but no one can possibly take
this little man seriously!”
Even though random attacks took place upon average citizens and children were bullied at school,
many of the people refused to believe what was happening was about to spread like a cancer. Those who had warned had either fled or
were arrested and killed.
Although political and cultural hurricane force winds were slowly destroying all segments of society,
many people clung to personal worlds as if reality was only make believe created by alarmists. Many people proudly looked at the historical
mindset of the nation and continually reassured themselves that the masses would never give in to the hatred spouted by a man that
was a mere comic book figure.
Within time, a typical evening meal or a comfortable nights sleep was interrupted abruptly by a
loud pounding on the door or no warning at all. The dark ominous clouds soon overshadowed the self-created blue skies and sunny days
that so many people convinced themselves was reality.
How could the Jewish people of World War II Germany not see the handwriting
on the wall or not hear the warning cries of those who could not convince the majority that the days ahead were a matter of life or
death?
Very few people in America, Canada and Britain see the handwriting on the wall or hear the warnings. There is nothing
new under the sun as stated in Ecclesiastes 1:9. It’s as if a baton of complacency and arrogance have been handed from the Jews of
World War II Germany and given to the American, Canadian and British people in a race to personal and national destruction.
The
nightmarish rule of
Adolph Hitler and the death of millions is a warning of what happens when complacency and arrogance is embraced
within a comfort zone that refuses to be violated.
Seemingly out of nowhere a prosperous nation with many of the brightest minds
became a death trap simply because of race. Not only did the Jewish people loose their homes, but millions found themselves looking
through slits of boarded cattle cars on their way to places such as
Chelmo, Belzec, Sobibor, Treblinka, Maidenek and Auschwitz. One
can only imagine what was going through the minds of those who were herded like cattle as they silently listened to mile after mile
of endless railroad track.
The world overall was far more civilized some 70 years ago. Today the world is not only ruled by God-less
leaders, but people are far more blind to what is happening around them. Due to the false god of materialism, America, Canada and
Britain refuse to see a whole host of problems.
God’s people have been given the precious understanding of God’s truth, but do
we see the dangers growing by the day, due to the lack of appreciation for what we have been given?
How many brethren will find
themselves victims of the Great Tribulation as a result of not appreciating God’s truth? How many will be put in positions to provide
answers to those they are with while in captivity? The coming enslavement is just one facet of the Great Tribulation. A persecution
is coming and God will correct a Laodacean attitude by allowing lukewarm brethren to experience the very thing that some have convinced
themselves is for other church members who are lukewarm.
We are in such a confused state today that the only way many brethren
will wake up is to see that belonging to a particular church organization is not what grants us entrance into God’s Kingdom, but a
dedication to God and Christ, which is what they desire above all else.
A mere 30-40 years ago we would never have imagined the
churches of God would be in such disarray, let alone an America, Canada and Britain living life on a daily basis as if there is no
tomorrow.
Not only should we desire a heartfelt and urgent warning to those who do not know what lies ahead, but voices of warning
need to cry out due to the spiritual condition of God’s Church.
