May 4, 2008--Tim Lindholm Family
Hi everyone: As friends who have spent many feasts together, we
just wanted to pass on to everyone that Tim's mom died Tuesday evening (March 11, 2008). She was 75. As many of you know, she suffered
from schizophrenia for 47 years. There were many good times, but also a lot of difficult times. She was admitted to the hospital a
couple of weeks ago with blood pressure issues and a blood infection. Doctors detected a mass in her esophageal area but she did not
want to be camera’d or cut. They stabilized her and she went home after 4 days. Early Monday morning she was admitted again for the
same issues. Tim saw her Monday night along with the doctor. At that point she was still eating well, laughing and joking. But the
doctor told her and the family that her condition was life threatening. As her blood pressure dropped, her body was shutting down.
Her kidneys were shutting down. She did not want dialysis. The doctor said that operating to remove the mass was not a good option:
1) she might not survive it 2) she would be left without the ability to eat normally or talk - not a good quality of life. Tuesday
morning the doctor called to say she probably wouldn't survive the morning. This time the whole family went down ... she could barely
talk during her awake times. They were giving her pain killers to keep her comfortable. She didn't want to be hooked up to monitors
or IV's so she was moved to hospice. She finally died Tuesday night (March 11, 2008) at 9:25 pm. We feel blessed that her suffering
was not long and drawn out. We also feel blessed that she no longer has to fight her demons. Of course she is loved and will be missed.
Thank you for your prayers! We hope this finds you all well.-- With love, Tim, Hope and family --- Sent by Tim Lindholm
